Our King Air 90 is the fastest aircraft available to
skydivers in Utah. Faster aircraft means less time
climbing to altitude. Spend more time jumping than
climbing to altitude! |
It's a good idea to understand flight behavior of
various canopy types.

Safety/Rules: |
Having a safety
record second to none and an emphasis on fun, We are a United States
Parachute Association group member and subscribe to their basic safety
regulations (BSR's) and philosophies. We also require the wearing of
head protection by all jumpers with less than 50 jumps and highly recommend
that all jumpers wear some form of headgear.
-
ALWAYS be altitude aware. If
this is at all an issue, we recommend some sort of audible device such as the
Dytter, TimeOut, or ProTrack devices.
-
3 handles, 3 straps - 3 times
-
After landing, turn around to see
if anyone is coming towards you
-
If it feels wrong, it probably
is
-
Ask many questions of everyone
around you. Never be afraid to ask a question. (Be prepared to not like the
answer)
-
Get two pin checks – on the ground
and before exiting the aircraft
-
Look for other canopies while
flying your canopy
-
Keep your vision up during no wind,
hot day landings. This will help you land mo' betta.
-
NO big turns at low altitude
-
THINK, THINK, THINK! Use the
thing between your ears

Rules for
fun jumpers at Skydive Utah:
-
Student Rigs
may not be used for freeflying, they are not rigged for freeflying.
-
Hook turns
may only be performed in the South Landing area
-
Fun jumpers
may not land in the South landing area unless you cannot make it safely to the
North Landing Area. This is a D license-only area.
-
Skydivers
deploying at altitudes greater than 3500 feet are considered "high-pullers"
and must be last off the aircraft unless otherwise instructed by the
jumpmaster.
-
Your name
must be on the Manifest Board prior to getting on the aircraft. Depending on
the temperature of the day, seating may be more or less limited. If you board
the aircraft without Manifest being aware, you may put yourself or other
skydivers at risk.

This
diagram shows the various landing areas at Skydive Utah.
We have a lot of outs at this dropzone, so if you can't make it
back to the preferred landing area, there are several other safe
locations to land. |

Most accidents in skydiving
are a chain of events; remove ONE link from the chain, and the incident may
easily be averted. |
